You need an account in Sanctum for several important reasons:
Data Encryption and Protection: Your account serves as the key to encrypt and protect your data, ensuring it remains secure on your device.
Local Storage: All your data, including your chat history and cache, is stored locally on your device within what we call the "Sanctum Vault."
We take privacy seriously, so you can be certain Sanctum will never share any of your data without your explicit permission. Your data is not connected to the internet, and we do not require or track personal information, such as emails or phone numbers.
Creating an account is simple and quick – you only need to choose a username and password; no email is required.
A Sanctum Vault is a secure and local repository for your data. Here are some key points about it:
Encrypted Data: All your data within your Sanctum Vault is encrypted, ensuring that it remains private and only accessible by you.
Local Storage: The Sanctum Vault is stored locally, so your data never leaves your device.
Auto login is a feature that facilitates a seamless and rapid login to your account. To enable this, your password is stored in the MacOS Keychain.
The Sanctum Vault is encrypted by a private key, which is secured by a Stronghold. To access this key, you need to set up an account with a password. Your password is then used to unlock the Stronghold.
Yes. The Sanctum database is fully encrypted with the AES-256 encryption algorithm. This encryption standard, chosen by the U.S. government to protect classified data, ensures that your information remains confidential and inaccessible to unauthorized parties.
If you wish to remove all your data, you can do so easily:
Open Sanctum's settings.
Look for an option to reset your account. This will delete all your chat history.
Additionally, you can remove all downloaded models by clicking on the checkmark in the confirmation pop-up.
Given our focus on user data security, we do not have access to your password.
If you forget your password, unfortunately, there is no recovery option. To continue using Sanctum, you will need to create a new account with a new username and password.
Sanctum uses cache to enhance the performance of the model by storing frequently accessed data, allowing for faster responses.
If you want to clear cache, follow the instructions:
In the Settings, you have control over the cache size. You can increase or reduce it to suit your preferences.
To clear the entire cache, use the button "Clear entire cache". Clearing the cache will not remove your chat history or downlaoded models; it only removes the temporary data used for optimization.
Sanctum operates on a zero-access policy to your data. Since all user data is stored locally on your Mac, we do not have access to it, and we cannot turn it over, even if legally compelled to do so. Your data privacy and security are of utmost importance to us.
